The University of Michigan has launched an Academic Innovation Initiative that represents the next stage in the evolution of our leadership in higher education. In 2019, U-M established the Center for Academic Innovation.

The initiative supports U-M faculty, staff and students who consider how to leverage networked access to information, new modes of learning and the power of data analytics to strengthen the quality of a Michigan education and enhance our impact on society.

Academic innovation is where creativity, comprehensive excellence and our aspirations for societal impact all come together at the University of Michigan. It includes innovations inside and outside the classroom, involves our students in hands-on learning and uses new technologies to enrich their experiences and gives the growing U-M community opportunities to lean in to global and lifelong learning. It also brings a Michigan education to learners around the world.
