Donna Fry

Donna Fry was appointed interim chancellor for the University of Michigan-Flint effective Aug. 18, 2023, and she will serve until the selection of the next chancellor.

She has served the University of Michigan-Flint since 1987 as a faculty member and in progressive administrative roles within the Physical Therapy Department and College of Health Sciences, a college she has led as dean since 2015.

Fry’s scholarly work focuses on enhancing respiratory function in persons with multiple sclerosis. Since her appointment as dean of the College of Health Sciences, Fry has led the college through strategic envisioning, planning and implementation to restructure the college and has added multiple health programs including occupational therapy doctorate, physician assistant masters, and the bachelor of science-completion program in respiratory therapy.

Fry has earned three degrees from the University of Michigan: a bachelor’s degree and certificate in physical therapy, a master’s degree in kinesiology and a Ph.D. in kinesiology.
