Dear colleagues and friends, students, staff and faculty:
The strength and vitality of our democracy begins with a choice. A choice to be informed, to be engaged, and above all, to vote.
Early voting has officially launched in the State of Michigan, giving us nine days for voters to cast their ballots. Voting opened this past Saturday and continues until Sunday, November 3rd, with Election Day next Tuesday, November 5th.
It is so important for us to use this opportunity.
It’s a right – the right to be heard and the right to be actively engaged in our democracy. It’s also a profound responsibility – a responsibility to choose thoughtfully and deliberately in selecting the leaders and the policies that will shape the future of our community and our country.
So please vote.
Please use the opportunity provided by our nine days of early voting, or vote on Tuesday, November 5th.
If you’re in the Ann Arbor area, I encourage you to take advantage of our Campus Voting Hubs, where passionate peer mentors can offer resources on voter registration, voting information, and engagement opportunities to any of our U-M community members. Campus Voting Hubs are located on the Ann Arbor campus at the U-M Museum of Art as well as the Duderstadt Center Gallery.
More information on how to prepare for Election Day and stay engaged can be found at UMICH Votes.
Together, let’s make that choice – the choice to vote and the choice to shape the future of our democracy.
Victors Vote Early!
