Student volunteers sought for programming related to presidential debate

Dear Students:

I am pleased to share that student volunteer opportunities are being planned for the months leading up to this year’s presidential debate on the Ann Arbor campus.

We are currently seeking U-M students interested in volunteering in Ann Arbor during the Winter, Spring, and Summer terms. I invite all of you to check out the new volunteer information tab on our Debate 2020 website.

Nonpartisan volunteer opportunities will be available in many different areas of campus as we prepare to host the debate. Students who complete the interest form on the website will receive a follow-up email with information about available volunteer opportunities. Opportunities will commence right after the upcoming break, so we encourage you to complete the form before February 28.

We’ll share information on volunteer opportunities for the Fall semester in the months ahead.

There is much at stake in this year’s election on November 3, and U-M is proud to host the Oct. 15, 2020 presidential debate. I invite all students to get involved in the debate, contribute to our nation’s democratic process, register to vote if eligible, and help our university set an example for civic engagement.

Sincerely,

Mark S. Schlissel
President
