Purpose

In our ongoing effort to create an environment that is healthy for all members of our community, the University of Michigan became a smoke–free university on July 1, 2011. This will help reduce the risks of second–hand smoke and ensure a healthier environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Co–Chairs

The team was co–chaired by Kenneth Warner, Dean of the School of Public Health, and Dr. Robert Winfield, Chief Health Officer for the University of Michigan and Director of University Health Service.
